More Information About Waitrose Wine Cellar

The Waitrose Wine Cellar was constructed with a little help from Findlater Mackie Todd, the wine merchant whom the John Lewis Partnership acquired in 1993. Findlater Mackie Todd had a long, storied and respected history in the wine industry, starting in 1822 when Alexander Findlater journeyed to Dublin, speculating that he could forge a profitable career as a wine merchant. On acquisition by the John Lewis Partnership, Findlater Mackie Todd had developed a strong mail order business, which was instrumental in the early success of the cellar. Today, the Cellar is recognised for its excellence with numerous awards, including being bestowed the Champagne Retailer of the Year, 2016.
